I have just completed an assignment for Karina and it is an education material for 2 cancer drugs. One can decrease bone mineral density (Aromasin) and the other is Taxotere, a chemotherapy with general side effects. This is for patients to see the effects of the drugs on their nutrition and ways to combat the problems. I have also enjoyed putting up a bulletin board for Nausea (see picture)and look forward to the larger bulletin board I will design this week on healthy snacks and tips during treatment. On Thursday we also gave out nutrition information and samples of supplements at a booth in the clinic.
I sat in with Karina at 2 different continuing educations. One was for research that her and colleagues attended. The other was for RD CEUs about cancer patients and the effects of treatment. It was a conference call but had many disciplines represented explaining how it can effect nutrition, dentition, skin, and overall health.
